A good standards discussion begins with the exact text and the question it raises—not a demand to accept someone's interpretation.
Prepare a useful question
- Identify the standard, source URL, edition and relevant passage without reproducing restricted text.
- State the claim or ambiguity in your own words, the jurisdiction or working context, and why it matters.
- Separate facts from interpretations. Include contrary references or a proposed correction when available.
- Specify whether you want a source clarification, an editorial correction, or an organizational decision.
